At Eleven 11 Laser + Skincare, we like to control what we can control and that starts with a foundational skincare routine to stop acne before it starts. That being said, we also have effective spot treatments for when acne has already developed.

SKIN CLEANSERS
Step 1 in the anti-aging treatment process is cleansing the skin. In order to treat the skin properly, we must ensure that it is clean. It is senseless to apply exfoliating scrubs, toners and other lotions and serums if the skin is not sensibly cleaned of most if not all dirt, grime and bacteria. Over the span of your day you are liable to buildup oils from sweat and your body’s natural oil secretion (some more than others). This build up needs to be maintained! We recommend washing your face 2-3 times per day(in the morning, after work and perhaps 1 more time before bed) with a cleanser that is well suited for the sensitivity and oil levels of your skin.

WHAT IS EXFOLIATION?
Exfoliation is one of the most important steps when it comes to the anti-aging process. This is the process of shedding dead skin cells. Doing so aides the body in the ability to create new cells which induces collagen production. Collagen is the protein that is responsible for skin elasticity or basically what keeps skin “tight”. Over time, due mainly to gravity and other weathering agents of the epidermis, your skin becomes looser and this is mostly due to a loss of collagen as well as a drop in production.

SHRINK THE APPEARNCE OF PORES WITH THE PROPER TONER
After cleansing and exfoliating the skin, the next step is usually to apply toner. This of course depends on your skin type. Toner usually comes in the form of a lotion, tonic or wash. It’s main purpose is to reduce the appearance and size of the pores on your skin! It is very common for toners to come with a little bit of moisturizing capabilities so that your skin does not dry out from the cleansing and exfoliating processes.
