How Does Intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) work?

Intense Pulsed Light Therapy (IPL) uses light energy in order to target imperfections on the skin. When the skin is heated, an exfoliation process begins to take place. This means that your body is getting rid of unwanted skin cells! IPL is different than laser treatments because it send out more than one wavelength of pulsating light. In addition, since the light doesn’t injure the tissue in anyway, recovery is faster than other facial treatments.

ipl FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IPL therapy is a cosmetic procedure that uses intense pulses of light to improve the appearance of skin. It can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including sun damage, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, broken capillaries, and mild to moderate acne.

IPL therapy uses a device that emits intense pulses of light that are absorbed by specific target cells in the skin. This can cause a therapeutic effect, such as reducing the appearance of pigmented spots or breaking up the clusters of blood vessels that cause broken capillaries.

IPL therapy is considered safe when performed by a trained and experienced professional. However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there are some risks and potential side effects, such as pain, redness, and swelling.

The number of IPL treatments required will vary depending on the individual’s skin type and condition. Some people may see results after just one treatment, while others may need several treatments to achieve the desired results.

During an IPL treatment, you will wear protective eyewear and the practitioner will apply a cool gel to the treatment area. The practitioner will then move the IPL device over your skin, emitting pulses of light. After the treatment, you may experience some redness and swelling, but these side effects should subside within a few days.

Before an IPL treatment, you should avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and certain skin care products that can increase your skin’s sensitivity to light. After an IPL treatment, you should protect your skin from the sun and avoid exfoliating or using any other aggressive skin care products.
